McHenry County

Conservation District Website

The goal for this project was to create a redesign of the MCCD’s website. I was tasked with taking their already existing assets and developing a creative and applicable design while adhering to their key attributes and appealing to their diverse audience.

The attributes given to convey with this project were natural, essential, accessible, friendly, open, historical, and respectful. These attributes are showcased through type using the simple, curved, legible, and clean Filson Pro and the strong, supportive, and bold Mokoko. Another way these ideas are displayed is through color. Inspired by the natural landscape, blue, green, and golden brown are used, adhering to the natural hierarchy of these colors.

Having grown up in McHenry County myself, I took a lot of pride in this project and aimed to create a design I could see my local community being proud of.
